2026-2027 Travel Scholarships Call
The call for travel scholarships is changing. However, ARES remains fully committed to supporting and encouraging international mobility for students to its partner countries, in order to promote the discovery of other academic, professional and cultural realities, as well as preparation for departure, with the support of university NGOs.
In order to meet the expectations of higher education institutions and to strengthen consistency with other international mobility funding schemes, ARES is decentralising the call for applications. This change aims to improve the control of timetables by higher education institutions, strengthen the monitoring of mobility, better align funding with actual needs and ensure greater equity between students within the same institution and for the same destination.
In practical terms, the call for applications will now be organised within your institution. The practical details for submitting applications will be communicated to you shortly by your institution's international departments.
A "Travel Scholarship" enables students to enjoy an international mobility experience in one of the 31 ARES partner countries in Africa, South America and Asia, in order to carry out research or an internship in a work placement.
Goals of the Travel Scholarships
- Give students the opportunity to experience mobility in one of the 31 ARES partner countries by conducting research (part or all of a dissertation or final project) or completing an internship in a work placement.
- Experience interculturality.
- Strengthen the sense of global citizenship.
