Contributing to the social, economic, and ecological challenges of the 2030 Agenda is the ambition of ARES’s academic cooperation program.
Through opportunities for training, research, and scholarships, ARES provides a supportive framework for higher education institutions in partner countries and in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, enabling them to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 2022–2027 Program is implemented in:
- 18 project partner countries: Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Madagascar, Morocco, Niger, Peru, Philippines, DR Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, and Vietnam.
- 31 scholarship partner countries: South Africa, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Bolivia, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cuba, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Guinea, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Uganda, Palestine, Peru, Philippines, DR Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Tunisia, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.
