Joint Degree Guide
The Joint Degree Guide is intended to be a practical tool for the development, implementation, and management of joint degree programs with partners outside the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FWB). Many institutions within the FWB have already established international joint degree programs, but others may feel less "equipped" to embark on such projects. This guide can therefore serve as a catalyst for institutions wishing to develop these types of partnerships.
The guide is designed to be "tailor-made" for higher education institutions in the FWB. It breaks down the FWB’s regulatory framework, explains the main stages (design, management, implementation, evaluation), and illustrates them with numerous concrete examples from FWB institutions. It also outlines the benefits and added value of joint degrees, as well as the challenges and difficulties involved.
The guide also covers a wide range of topics such as quality assurance, partner selection, funding, and mobility schemes. While each joint degree project is unique, the guide serves as a “user manual” for international joint degree programs.
