The Chamber of Schools of Arts

Since the creation of ARES, the work of the Chamber of Schools of Arts has mainly focused on:

Issuing opinions on reports, proposals, and preliminary draft decrees related to higher education;
Updating legal texts specific to higher artistic education;
New accreditations: based on quality and relevance criteria, the Chamber analyzes and selects applications that are then submitted to the ARES Board of Directors;
Drafting and validating competency frameworks for bachelor's and master's programs;
Defining minimum content requirements for bachelor's programs;
Reforming initial teacher training;
Assessing the impact of the Excellence Pact on artistic education (including PECA – the Cultural and Artistic Education Pathway);
Continuing education: the Chamber validates new certificates issued by schools of arts and has also secured government funding for organizing continuing education programs;
Funding for artistic research;
Collaboration between schools of arts and cultural operators: a joint working group with the General Administration of Culture led, in 2022, to a large-scale survey on the professional paths of graduates from schools of arts.
